Georgia is a country in the Caucasus region of Eurasia, located in between Western Asia and Eastern Europe. As a unitary, semi-presidential republic, the Georgian government is elected through a representative democracy (or indirect democracy), in which a group of elected officials choose the country’s leader. Georgia became independent of the Soviet Union in 1991, and is now currently a member of the Council of Europe and the GUAM Organization for Democracy and Economic Development.

The Republic of Zimbabwe, formerly known as Southern Rhodesia, is a democratic and presidential state located in Southern Africa between South Africa and Zambia. Zimbabwe was an annexed territory of the United Kingdom for several decades. It declared its independence in 1960 but was only recognized by the UK in 1980. Despite of being a parliamentary democracy, Zimbabwe has faced constant political and social instability which has reflected in its low income economy and development. Nevertheless, this country has great natural resources such as diamonds and minerals which represent a large development potential. In its efforts for development and stability, the people of Zimbabwe adopted a new constitution by referendum in 2013.
